Drayton Street Family Practice provides our patients with a specialist Skin Cancer Screening service.
MOLEMATE
Using MoleMate, a non-invasive, rapid and painless skin cancer detection device, we can identify any suspicious or benign lesions.
MoleMate has been specifically designed with and for General Practitioners, and is a perfect way to detect cancerous moles and sun spots so they can be treated early – potentially saving your life.
PROCEDURE
Our MoleMate service will require patients to attend at least two consultations. The first consultation (allow 1 hour) will consist of:
- Full skin check with the doctor.
- Photographic recording of all suspicious skin lesions and moles.
The second consultation will be on a separate day, to give your Doctor the time to thoroughly study each lesion and decide on best course of treatment or follow up. It is recommended that patients have a mole scan every year. However, if there are any lesions the doctor would like rescanned before the 12 months, we will contact you.
We know the thought of having skin cancer can be a stressful and emotional experience but if detected earlier and with the advancements in medicine, more and more Australians can be cured of Cancer and go on to live a long and happy life.
